Pre-Accession Funds

Gaining the candidate status and with the announcement of pre-accession strategy, Republic of Croatia has achieve conditions for using resources from three Pre-Accession Funds - PHARE, ISPA and SAPARD. In the two first Pre-Accession Funds - PHARE and ISPA Croatia has been participating since 2005., whilst participation in SAPARD, because of the more complex procedure, has begun since 2006. Pre-Accession Funds are oriented toward providing financial and technical help to the candidate countries in the process of preparation for full membership in EU.

Community Programs

The Sixth Framework Programme on Research and Technological Development, Intelligent Energy-Europe, IDABC, Customs, Gender Equality, Fiscalis, Enterprise & SMEs, Marco Polo, Youth, Tempus Life – all in function to stimulate cooperation of economists from small and middle enterprises, public institutions and associations of civil society in order to achieve Community's goals. Cooperation is accomplished by consortium or participation network, which also represent prerequisite to obtain projects co-financing. Usually, these programs are intended for member countries, but some of them are opened for countries in the process of approaching to the EU, and so Croatia has been participating in some of the Community Programs but in the third country status under special conditions and/or limited parts.
